- More often than not, simple uncomplicated dishes turn out surprisingly
delicious. These are a favourite category of my experimentations
since they colour up the meal of those not only time bound, but also
have limited kitchen stocks, are alone to eat, and have a friend over
to eat, but do not possess much culinary skill.
- We will be wise to invest some time in the month to prepare some ready
to use chutneys (eg. green, tamarind, etc), garlic paste and bread
crumbs of dried bread and store in the freezer to use as required. You
will save a lot of time in your daily chores.
- Other recipes like bachelors' recipes,
etc. also can be clubbed into this category. Use your imagination to
reprocess and reuse any leftovers to make a delicious dish the next
day. You may come up with the most interesting concoctions.
- I have tried to use as few out of the way ingredients as posssible, in
this week's recipes keeping in mind that tiny kitchenettes for working
singles are rarely amply stocked.
- If you run out of any one of a combination of vegetables in any
recipe, just make do or substitute with what you have. No problem, let
that not stop you, just go ahead and try.
