Description:
It is a drupaceous nut and grows on a deciduous tree. The fruit of the almond tree is inedible. There are two types of almonds, sweet and bitter. The bitter almonds are inedible, only the nut of the sweet almonds are used for consumption. Once plucked, it is dried and then the nut is removed for consumption.
Commonly used in:
Usually eaten by itself, it is also used as a sprinkling over savoury, sweet and deserts.
