Amaranth leaves

Amaranth leaves is an ingredient used in Indian cooking Also called as:
Chau lai, Cheera

People around the world value amaranths as leaf vegetables, cereals and ornament plants. Several species are cultivated for amaranth grains.

Amaranth seed flour is used as an additive to wheat flour.

Commonly used in:
Leaf is either boiled or steamed to prepare dishes and salads. The grains are powdered and added to other flours to enhance the nutritional value.

They are also grown as ornamental plants.

Health Benefits:
Amaranth seed have a high content of minerals calcium magnesium iron and amino acids. They are a rich source of vitamin, minerals and proteins. It contains high fibre and essential amino acids. This contains vitamin C and so boosts the immune system.
