Description:
Ash gourd is a vine which is eaten as a vegetable. This gourd has a longer shelf life and therefore exported in large quantities. These gourds were originally cultivated in South -East Asia but have gained popularity in other parts of the world as well.
Commonly used in:
Curries, raitha, snacks, sweets, etc.
Health benefit:
Among other things, ash Gourd is beneficial for diabetics; it helps reduce excess weight, cures constipation, useful for detoxification, ulcers. It is an excellent source of vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B3 (niacin), and vitamin C.
