Raw banana

Raw banana is an ingredient used in Indian cooking Also known as:
Kacha kela, Vazhaikkai, Arati kaya.

A banana is an edible fruit. The fruit is variable in size, color and firmness, but is usually elongated and curved, with soft flesh. Raw banana has a skin that is green in colour and is also called plantains.  

Commonly used in:
Bananas can be deep fried, cooked in curries, stews, backed or steamed. Dried banana is ground to get banana flour which is used for various dishes in South India.

Health benefit:
Bananas have a high content of potassium and fiber. It reduces high blood pressure and decreases acidity.
