Sugar is the white crystallised form that is used to sweeten food. Sugar is obtained from sugar cane juice and it is chemically treated to get the crystals.

To sweeten food like cakes, biscuits,jams drinks etc. They are also used as preservatives.

Health Benefits:
Due to high calorie content sugar gives the body energy but it lacks nutrients and fibre. Enough amount of sugar enhances the general health and the skin texture.
