  • 1.5 kg - raw mangoes
  • sufficient water to boil the mangoes
  • sugar according to taste
  • 2 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - rock salt
  • 2 tsp - freshly roasted cumin seed powder

How to Make Aam Panna with Rock Salt and Roasted Cumin

  • Wash the mangoes.
  • Add sufficient water and pressure cook the mangoes till two whistles.
  • Allow it to cool and squeeze out the pulp.
  • Add sugar, salt, rock salt and cumin seed powder. Mix well.
  • Boil until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Remove from fire and allow it to cool.
  • Strain and store in dry sterilised airtight bottles.
  • To Serve:
  • Add 4 to 5 tbsp of aam panna in a tall glass.
  • Pour sufficient water and mix well.
  • Add salt if needed.
  • Add crushed ice.
  • Mix well and serve chilled.
