Ingredients

  • Raw Rice - 1 cup
  • Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
  • Channa dal - 1/2 cup
  • Urad Dal - 1/4 cup
  • Moong dal - 1/4 cup
  • Red Chillies - 5 or 6
  • Salt to taste
  • Asafoetida - 1 tbsp
  • How to Make Aamai Vadai:

    1. Grind all the above ingredients into a coarse mix.
    2. Mix water and make into thick batter.
    3. The batter can be left overnight for fermentation.
    4. Pour small thick dosas (like uthappam) on a tawa and add oil on the sides.
    5. Cook on both sides (add oil on both sides) till it turns crispy.
