  • Raw Rice - 1 cup
  • Toor Dal - 1 cup
  • Chana dal - 1/2 cup
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Moong dal- 1 tsp
  • Groundnut (raw) - 1 tsp
  • Red Chillies - 10 to 12 or as per taste
  • Small onions- 1/4 kg
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Asafoetida as per taste
  • How to Make Adai with Red Chillies:

    1. Soak rice and the dals separately.
    2. Grind rice with red chillies, salt and asafoetida.
    3. Grind the dals to a coarse paste.
    4. Mix it to the ground rice batter.
    5. Cut baby onions to medium size bits and mix it with the batter.
    6. Also, add cut curry leaves.
    7. The consistency of the batter should be similar to dosa batter.
    8. Heat a tava and pour the mixture like a dosa with enough oil.
    9. Once cooked well on both sides the adai is ready to serve.
