Ingredients

  • 1 - medium sized lauki (peeled and chopped in small cubes)
  • 100 g - fresh peas
  • 1 - big sized onion (sliced in big pieces)
  • 10 g - raisins
  • 10 g - cashew nuts (soaked and made into a paste )
  • 1 tbsp - coconut powder
  • 3 tbsp - milk powder
  • Small piece of ginger chopped and crushed
  • 2 - 3 cloves
  • 1 - small piece of cinnamon
  • 2 - 3 - cardamoms
  • 1/2 tsp - black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 pinch - garam masala
  • Salt

How to Make Adi - Muglai Lauki

  • In a pan heat the oil and fry cloves, cinnamon, and cardamoms.
  • Then add onions, ginger and saute them.
  • After the onions turn golden brown, add the chopped lauki, peas, raisins and cashew nut paste.
  • Stir on high flame for some time till lauki loses its water.
  • To this add coconut powder and pepper powder.
  • Bring it to boil and then add milk powder (which has been dissolved in 1/2 a glass of cold water).
  • Once again bring it to a boil and then switch off the burner.
  • Add garam masala and salt. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
