Ingredients

  • 1 can - brown lentils
  • 1 - Garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp - chopped Green chillies
  • 1 - chopped onion, in medium size
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Hing
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 tsp - Pomegranate powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - cooking oil
  • How to Make Afghani Dal:

    1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and hing.
    2. Once it crackles, add chopped onions, green chillies, minced garlic and saute it for a while.
    3. Drain and rinse brown lentils and add it into the pan.
    4. Add 2-3 tbsp of hot water in it to form a thick gravy.
    5. Add all the spices and mix well and cook for 5 mins.
    6. Garnish with coriander leaves and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
