Ingredients

  • 4 bunches - agathi keerai
  • 1 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • 1/2 cup - moong dal
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 - Red Chilli
  • 1 tsp - Urad Dal
  • A pinch of Turmeric
  • 1.5 cup - water
  • How to Make Agathi keerai curry:

    1. Clean the leaves of the agathi keerai.
    2. Cook moong dal in a heavy bottomed pan with 1 cup water and a pinch of turmeric powder.
    3. Remove the cooked moong dal and keep aside.
    4. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds.
    5. When the mustard seeds sputter add urad dal and fry till golden brown.
    6. Add chopped red chilli and mix well.
    7. Now add the cleaned agathi keerai to the pan and sprinkle some water along with salt to taste.
    8. Add 1/2 cup water. Put the lid on and cook the keerai for 10 mins.
    9. Once the keerai is cooked completely, add the grated coconut and mix well.
    10. Serve with rice.
