  • 400 gms - lobiya (soaked overnight)
  • 100gms - urad dal (without husk)
  • 2 tbsp - jeera
  • 100 gms - green chillies
  • 100 gms - dhaniya seeds
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves (handful)
  • Coriander leaves (handful)
  • 1/4 tsp - hing

How to Make Alasanda vadium ( lobiya cryspies)

  • Drain water completely from the soaked lobiya and urad dal.
  • Grind chillies, dhania seeds and jeera seeds into a coarse paste. Remove and keep aside.
  • Grind lobiya, urad dal, hing and salt into a coarse paste, adding curry leaves and coriander.
  • Mix chilli masala and dal paste thoroughly. Add salt to taste.
  • Put small rounds of the paste on a plastic sheet. Keep it under the sun to dry for 3-4 days (Turning them once in while) till they become crisp.
  • Deep fry the sun dried crispies in oil. Serve with hot sambar rice and preserve them in an air tight container.
