  • 400 gms - lobiya (soaked overnight)
  • 100gms - Urad Dal (without husk)
  • 2 tbsp - Jeera
  • 100 gms - Green chillies
  • 100 gms - dhaniya seeds
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves (handful)
  • Coriander leaves (handful)
  • 1/4 tsp - Hing
  • How to Make Alasanda vadium ( lobiya cryspies):

    1. Drain water completely from the soaked lobiya and urad dal.
    2. Grind chillies, dhania seeds and jeera seeds into a coarse paste. Remove and keep aside.
    3. Grind lobiya, urad dal, hing and salt into a coarse paste, adding curry leaves and coriander.
    4. Mix chilli masala and dal paste thoroughly. Add salt to taste.
    5. Put small rounds of the paste on a plastic sheet. Keep it under the sun to dry for 3-4 days (Turning them once in while) till they become crisp.
    6. Deep fry the sun dried crispies in oil. Serve with hot sambar rice and preserve them in an air tight container.
