  • 1 - Carrot
  • 1 - Potato
  • 1 - Chow chow
  • 1 - Capsicum
  • Salt to taste|
  • 100 gm - beans
  • 1/4 cup - Cucumber Channa dal
  • For Grinding:
  • 3 tbsp - Coconut
  • 1 - Red Chilli
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tsp - oil|
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • Curry leaves a few
  • How to Make All India Kootu:

    1. Pressure cook channa dal and mash it well and keep it aside
    2. Soak 1 tsp of rice in water
    3. Finely chop all the vegetables and put it in a bowl
    4. Heat a heavy bottomed pan and cook the chopped vegetables with required water for the vegetables.
    5. To this add turmeric and salt and mix it well
    6. Grind the coconut, red chilli, cumin seeds and soaked rice to a fine paste
    7. When the vegetables are cooked, drain the excess water and add the ground paste and stir well
    8. Add the cooked channa dal and mix it well. Add required water to get the required consistency
    9. In a separate pan, heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, add the curry leaves
    10. Add the seasoned ingredients to the boiling kootu and switch off the flame.
