Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup - potatoes, peeled and chopped into cubes
  • 3/4 cup - chopped Onions
  • 3/4 cup - shelled peas
  • 8 to 10 cubes Paneer
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 2 to 3 Cloves - Garlic
  • 1/2 inch piece - Ginger
  • 1/4 cup - Coriander leaves
  • 2 Tomatoes (1 chopped and 1 cut into half)
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • How to Make Aloo Mattar:

    1. Heat oil and add 1/2 tsp of cumin and mustard seeds.
    2. Add a pinch of turmeric and then the chopped onions.
    3. Fry for a few minutes and then add the chopped tomatoes, potatoes and peas.
    4. Add a little water if required.
    5. Cover the pan and cook until the potatoes and peas are tender.
    6. Stir in between and add salt while cooking.
    7. Grind the remaining ingredients except the paneer.
    8. Deep fry the paneer till golden brown.
    9. Add the above paste to the pan and cook for a few mins.
    10. Add paneer before serving and garnish with coriander leaves malai.
    11. Serve with puris or parathas.
