Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - Potato
  • 1/2 cup - onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups - Methi leaves, cleaned and chopped
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 1 tsp - garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seed powder
  • 1 tsp - Coriander seed powder
  • 2 tbsp - Lime juice
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • How to Make Aloo Methi Fry:

    1. Boil the potatoes. Peel and cut into 2 cm cubes.
    2. Heat the oil. Add mustard. When it splutters, add garlic.
    3. Fry till dark brown. Add onion and fry till golden brown.
    4. Add the methi leaves and fry very well.
    5. Mix all the powders with 1/4 cup of water and add. Fry well.
    6. Add potatoes and salt.
    7. Keep covered on low heat for 3-5 minutes.
    8. Sprinkle lime juice on top and serve hot with pooris, chappati or as a side dish with rice and dal.
