Ingredients

  • 1 cup - peas
  • 2 - potatoes, cubed
  • 1 - medium onion, sliced
  • 2 - small tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Cinnamon powder
  • 2 to 3 - Green chillies
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp each - coriander and Cumin seed powder
  • 1 - Bay Leaf
  • A handful of Cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Aloo Mutter (Potatoes and Peas Curry):

    1. In a non-stick pan, heat some oil (ghee/butter) and add the onions.
    2. Saute them for 1 min, add ginger garlic paste, chillies and saute some more till the onions turn translucent.
    3. Add all the spices along with salt and bay leaf and saute them for 2 to 3 mins.
    4. Add the potatoes and cook for another 2 to 3 mins.
    5. Add the tomatoes, stir for another 1 min and add a cup of water and close the lid. Cook for 4 to 5 mins.
    6. Add the peas and cook till all the water has been absorbed and potatoes are tender.
    7. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice.
