How to Make Aloo-Pulses Kichdi

  • Wash rice and all the pulses.
  • Wash and peel the skin off the potatoes.
  • Cut the potatoes and the onions into cubes.
  • Slit the green chillies.
  • Heat oil in a cooker and add cumin seeds, green chillies, cloves garlic, cardamom, cinnamon and turmeric until a strong aroma arises.
  • Now add onions and saute them till they turn pale brown.
  • Now add the potatoes and saute them for 2 mins.
  • Add the rice and the pulses along with 4.5 cups water with salt and pressure cook.
  • Serve hot with mango pickle or raitha of your choice.
