  • 1 cup - all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Baking powder - a pinch
  • 1tsp - oil
  • Water
  • For Filling:
  • 2 tsp - oil
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Carom seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • 1 - onion, finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder
  • Dry mango powder - 1/2 tsp
  • 2 - potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
  • Salt to taste
  • Chat masala.

How to Make Aloo Samosas

  • Mix maida, salt, baking powder, oil and enough water and make a stiff dough
  • Boil the potatoes, peel and mash well and keep aside.
  • Heat 2 tsp oil in a kadai and splutter cumin seeds and add carom seed, finely chopped onion, chopped green chillies and fry well.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, amchur powder and mix well.
  • Add mashed potatoes, salt and chaat masala and mix well.
  • Now roll the dough into small puris, cut into half and fold a piece to form a triangle, stuff with the filling and close the edges by twisting the edges.
  • Deep Fried in oil warmed and maintained in medium heat for uniform cooking.
