Ingredients

  • Bengal Gram dal - 1/2kg
  • Coconut, small - 1
  • Cumin seeds- 25g
  • Green chillies - 30g
  • Ginger, small piece - 1
  • A few coriander and Curry leaves
  • Asafoetida - 2 pinches
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Ambode:

    1. Soak the bengal gram dal for about 1.5 hours.
    2. Grind all the ingredients to a coarse paste.
    3. Flatten like vada and deep fry in oil.
    4. Serve hot.
