Ingredients

  • 250g - gooseberries
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Coriander seed (dhania) powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - crushed mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 2 or 3 pinches - Asafoetida powder
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • How to Make Amla Sabzi:

    1. Drop gooseberries in boiling water for 4-5 minutes Drain, cut into segments, discarding seed.
    2. Sprinkle all masalas, mustard, salt, over segments.
    3. Heat oil, add cumin, asafoetida.
    4. Allow to splutter.
    5. Add seasoned amla, stir till oil separates.
    6. Take off fire.
    7. Serve with chapatti or puris.
