Ingredients

  • 250g - gooseberries
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - coriander seed (dhania) powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - crushed mustard
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 2 or 3 pinches - asafoetida powder
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • Salt, to taste

How to Make Amla Sabzi

  • Drop gooseberries in boiling water for 4-5 minutes Drain, cut into segments, discarding seed.
  • Sprinkle all masalas, mustard, salt, over segments.
  • Heat oil, add cumin, asafoetida.
  • Allow to splutter.
  • Add seasoned amla, stir till oil separates.
  • Take off fire.
  • Serve with chapatti or puris.
