  • 1 cup - Raw Rice
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Chilli Powder
  • 3 tbsp - Grated Coconut
  • Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 2tbsp - Til / Refined Oil
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Ammini Kozhakattai:

    1. Soak rice in water for half an hour and grind to a smooth dough.
    2. Add water to make a loose consistency.
    3. Add salt and mix well.
    4. Heat oil in a pan and pour the dough and keep stirring in medium heat, till it becomes thick.
    5. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
    6. Prepare small balls (10 mm) from this and steam cook in an idli pan.
    7. Heat oil in a non stick pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, chilli powder, hing and curry leaves
    8. Now add the balls and coconut and stir well.
    9. Now remove from gas and serve.
