Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Raw Rice
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Chilli Powder
  • 3 tbsp - Grated coconut
  • Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 2tbsp - Til / Refined Oil
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Ammini Kozhakattai

  • Soak rice in water for half an hour and grind to a smooth dough.
  • Add water to make a loose consistency.
  • Add salt and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan and pour the dough and keep stirring in medium heat, till it becomes thick.
  • Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
  • Prepare small balls (10 mm) from this and steam cook in an idli pan.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, chilli powder, hing and curry leaves
  • Now add the balls and coconut and stir well.
  • Now remove from gas and serve.
