Ingredients

  • For Koftas:
  • 1 cup - ankurit moong (sprouted green lentils)
  • 1/2 cup - besan flour
  • 1 tsp - chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 1 - Ginger piece, grated
  • 1 tbsp -fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • For Gravy:
  • 1 - small onion, chopped
  • 1 - Ginger piece, chopped
  • 5 - flakes garlic, chopped
  • 2 tsp - Tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - kitchen king powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as per need
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • How to Make Ankurit Moong Kofta:

    1. Mix all the ingredients of koftas and shape them into lemon sized balls.
    2. Heat the oil in kadai, then fry the balls 4-5 at a time, till they turn golden brown.
    3. Fry all the koftas and keep them aside.
    4. Now in a grinder put onion, ginger and garlic and convert them in a paste.
    5. Take oil in a pan, when it is hot add cumin seeds, when it sputters put this paste and fry till it leaves the oil or turns a little brown in colour.
    6. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and tomato puree, fry for another 2 minutes.
    7. Now add kitchen king powder and water. Add salt, let it boil, then simmer it for 10-12 minutes.
    8. When gravy is almost done add garam masala powder.
