Ingredients

  • 10 cooking apples - hollowed, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup - Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp - rum
  • 2 tbsp - Honey
  • 1 tbsp - Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup - granola
  • 1/2 cup - graham crackers
  • 1 tbsp - Sugar
  • 2 tbsp - melted Butter
  • How to Make Apple compote:

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree F.
    2. Place the apples, brown sugar, rum, honey, and the cinnamon in a large saucepan.
    3. Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 mins.
    4. Stir from time to time.
    5. Remove the cover and continue the cooking process for 10 mins.
    6. Once the apples are cooked, remove the saucepan from heat.
    7. Transfer the mixture to a buttered gratin dish. Set aside.
    8. Place the granola, the graham crackers, the sugar and the butter in a mixing bowl.
    9. Spread this mixture over the apples.
    10. Place the apple compote in the oven at broil for 7 to 8 mins.
    11. Serve with fresh cream.
