Ingredients

  • For the cover: 150 g - fat (margarine/butter)
  • 200 g - flour
  • 50 g - Sugar
  • For the crumble: 100 g - flour
  • 50 g - fat (margarine/ butter)
  • 50 g - Sugar
  • For the filling:
  • 1/2 dozen - apples
  • 50 g - Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp - Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon powder
  • How to Make Apple Pie:

    1. Sieve the flour. Rub in the fat until you get a bread crumb-like consistency.
    2. Add sugar.
    3. Make a soft dough adding cold water and keep aside.
    4. For the crumble:
    5. Sieve the flour and rub in the fat.
    6. Add sugar and mix well.
    7. Leave the mixture dry.
    8. For the filling:
    9. Peel the apples and finely slice them.
    10. Add sugar, cinnamon powder and a few drops of lime juice.
    11. Roll out the pastry to 1/8 inch thickness
    12. Line the bottom of a greased souffle tin or a pie tin.
    13. Arrange all the apple slices and sprinkle over with crumble.
    14. Bake at 150 degrees till done.
