Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups - Flour
  • 1/2 tsp - Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp - Salt
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp - Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp - Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp - All spice
  • 1/2 cup - Shortening
  • 1 cup - Packed Brown sugar
  • 1 - Egg
  • 1/2 cup - Raisins
  • 1/2 cup - Chopped Walnuts
  • 1.25 cups - Unsweetened Apple sauce
  • How to Make Apple Sauce Cake(With Eggs):

    1. Line a 1.5 quarter glass baking dish or 8x8 inch cake pan (glass) with wax paper and put it aside.
    2. Sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices together.
    3. Cream shortening and brown sugar.
    4. Add egg and beat thoroughly.
    5. Add raisins and walnuts to apple sauce and mix it well.
    6. Alternately, add dry ingredients and apple sauce to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
    7. Pour batter into paper lined dish.
    8. Now, bake it for 15 min in a moderately hot oven and the cake is ready.
