  • 1.5 cups - Flour
  • 1/2 tsp - Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp - Salt
  • 1 tsp - Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp - Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp - Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp - All spice
  • 1/2 cup - Shortening
  • 1 cup - Packed brown sugar
  • 1 - Egg
  • 1/2 cup - Raisins
  • 1/2 cup - Chopped walnuts
  • 1.25 cups - Unsweetened apple sauce

How to Make Apple Sauce Cake(With Eggs)

  • Line a 1.5 quarter glass baking dish or 8x8 inch cake pan (glass) with wax paper and put it aside.
  • Sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices together.
  • Cream shortening and brown sugar.
  • Add egg and beat thoroughly.
  • Add raisins and walnuts to apple sauce and mix it well.
  • Alternately, add dry ingredients and apple sauce to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  • Pour batter into paper lined dish.
  • Now, bake it for 15 min in a moderately hot oven and the cake is ready.
