Ingredients

  • 150 g - Almonds
  • ?liter - Milk
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 2 tbsp - (whole) Wheat flour
  • 6 to 7 tbsp - Ghee
  • 8 to 10 green Cardamoms (whole)
  • 15 strands Saffron (soaked in a tbsp Milk for few minutes)
  • How to Make Badam Jo Seero (Almond Halwa):

    1. Grind the almonds into small coarse pieces.
    2. Lightly heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel.
    3. Saute the almonds, wheat flour and cardamoms on a low flame till the almonds turn golden brown.
    4. Stir continuously so that it does not stick to the bottom of vessel. Add milk and saffron.
    5. Continue cooking and when the mixture is fairly dry, add the sugar and cook for a further 10-15 minutes on a low flame.
    6. Place the vessel on a preheated tava and let it simmer 10 minutes.
