  • Bread slices - 8
  • Butter or cooking oil - 20 g
  • Maida - 1 tbsp
  • Milk - 250 ml
  • Processed cheese - 30 g
  • Onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Capsicum - 1, finely copped
  • White pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Baked Cheese Toast:

    1. Cut the bread slices into triangle shape and apply butter on one of its side.
    2. Arrange the slices in a baking tray keeping the buttered side down, making a single layer.
    3. Now, put a pan on slow fire and add the remaining butter into it.
    4. After butter melts, add maida and fry for a short while.
    5. Now, add chilled milk. Keep stirring it till the mixture is smooth, creamy and thick. Now remove from fire and add grated cheese, onion, capsicum, salt and pepper.
    6. Apply this mixture on the slices arranged in baking tray.
    7. Bake these in a very hot oven for about 10 - 15 min or till the toasts are crisp and golden brown.
    8. Serve with tomato sauce.
