  • Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chillies - 3, broken into pieces
  • Finely sliced Onion - 2 cups
  • Finely chopped bamboo tips - 2 cups
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Bamboo Shoot Upkari

  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds.
  • When they splutter, add red chillies.
  • Add onion and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the bamboo shoots and salt.
  • Cook without covering on low flame, stirring often till they are well roasted.
  • Serve.
