  • Banana flower - 1
  • Arhar dal -1 small cup
  • Red Chillies - 6
  • Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • A pinch - Turmeric
  • A pinch - Asafoetida
  • Oil
  • How to Make Banana Flower Paatholi:

    1. Soak arhar dal and red chillies for half an hour.
    2. Peal the banana flower
    3. Chop the peeled flower and boil it in salt water for 5 minutes
    4. Grind the soaked dal coarsely.
    5. In a thick bottom pan, put 2 tbsp refined oil, and put cumin, add the coarse dal and red chilli mixture.
    6. Fry on medium flame adding little oil whenever needed, so that it doesn't stick to the pan. When it is half fried, add the banana flower
    7. Add salt, asafoetida and turmeric.
    8. When it is dry and leaves the sides, serve.
