  • Banana flower - 1
  • Arhar dal -1 small cup
  • Red chillies - 6
  • Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • A pinch - turmeric
  • A pinch - asafoetida
  • Oil

How to Make Banana Flower Paatholi

  • Soak arhar dal and red chillies for half an hour.
  • Peal the banana flower
  • Chop the peeled flower and boil it in salt water for 5 minutes
  • Grind the soaked dal coarsely.
  • In a thick bottom pan, put 2 tbsp refined oil, and put cumin, add the coarse dal and red chilli mixture.
  • Fry on medium flame adding little oil whenever needed, so that it doesn't stick to the pan. When it is half fried, add the banana flower
  • Add salt, asafoetida and turmeric.
  • When it is dry and leaves the sides, serve.
