Ingredients

  • Banana flower - 1
  • Channa dal - 2 tbsp
  • Toor dal -2 tbsp
  • Mustard seed - 1/4 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli - 3
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Banana Flower Parupu Usili

  • Soak channa dal and toor dal in hot water for 1 hour
  • Boil the banana flower
  • Grind the soaked dal with chilli, little asafoetida and the required amount of salt to make a fine paste.
  • Take a pan, add oil, splutter mustard seeds and urad dal, add the ground paste and fry till the dal paste dries
  • Add the boiled banana flower sprouts and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Serve
