  • 2-2/3 cups - all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp - baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - packed light Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup - granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup - unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 1 - Egg (large)
  • 1 tsp - Banana extract or Banana liqueur
  • 3/4 cup - medium-sized ripe Banana (mashed)
  • 2 cups - semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup - Walnut (chopped)

How to Make Banana Nut Cookies

  • Preheat an oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
  • Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.
  • Blend the sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed.
  • Add the butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
  • Add the egg, banana extract and mashed banana and beat at medium speed until smooth.
  • Add the flour mixture, 1 cup of chocolate chips and walnuts and blend at low speed until just combined (do not overmix).
  • Using round tablespoons, drop the mixture onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inch apart.
  • Sprinkle the cookies with the remaining chocolate chips (6-8 chips per cookie).
  • Bake for 20-24 minutes or until the edges of the cookies begin to turn brown.
  • Transfer immediately to a cool surface with a spatula.
  • Store in an airtight container.
