  • 2-2/3 cups - all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp - baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 1 cup - packed light Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup - granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup - unsalted Butter (softened)
  • 1 - Egg (large)
  • 1 tsp - Banana extract or Banana liqueur
  • 3/4 cup - medium-sized ripe Banana (mashed)
  • 2 cups - semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup - Walnut (chopped)
  • How to Make Banana Nut Cookies:

    1. Preheat an oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
    2. Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.
    3. Blend the sugars in a large bowl with an electric mixer at medium speed.
    4. Add the butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
    5. Add the egg, banana extract and mashed banana and beat at medium speed until smooth.
    6. Add the flour mixture, 1 cup of chocolate chips and walnuts and blend at low speed until just combined (do not overmix).
    7. Using round tablespoons, drop the mixture onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inch apart.
    8. Sprinkle the cookies with the remaining chocolate chips (6-8 chips per cookie).
    9. Bake for 20-24 minutes or until the edges of the cookies begin to turn brown.
    10. Transfer immediately to a cool surface with a spatula.
    11. Store in an airtight container.
