How to Make Basic Dal Tadka

  • Pressure cook the dal with turmeric. Dal should not be mushy
  • Take a non-stick vessel and add ghee, splutter cumin seeds and mustard seeds, now add asafoetida
  • Then add the green chillies and garlic and fry for a minute
  • Add the cooked dal and salt and fry for 5 mins
  • Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves
  • Add some lime juice and serve it with rotis/rice.
