Ingredients

  • 250 g - red chilies (discard stalks)
  • 150 g - coriander
  • 50 g - pepper
  • 15 g - Channa dal
  • 35 g - toovar dal
  • 25 g - cumin
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - Asafoetida powder

How to Make Basic Rasam Powder

  • Roast red chilies with 1 Tbsp of oil.
  • Roast all the ingredients from coriander to cumin without oil.
  • Mix both together. Cool and grind to powder.
  • Mix in turmeric and asafetida. Cool and store in an air tight container.
