  • 3 cups Brown Pohe
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 3 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 1 medium chopped Onion
  • 2 Green Chillies de seeded & slit
  • 1 medium Potato
  • 50gms Roasted Peanuts
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice (optional)

How to Make Batata Pohe

  • Boil and cut potato in 1/2 inch cubes
  • Soak brown pohe in cold water for 15-20 minutes. Drain.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, onion, salt and green chillies and sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Add potato cubes and stir. Add roasted peanuts and turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Now add the soaked pohe, mix-well. Cook for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice if only you want a tangy taste to it.
  • Serve hot for breakfast
