  • 2 cups - leftover dry Potato vegetable
  • To taste - Green chillies (optional)
  • To taste - salt
  • To deep fry - oil
  • For batter:
  • 1 cup - gram flour
  • 1 tbsp - Rice flour
  • 3 to 4 pinches - Turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - hot oil
  • How to Make Batata Vada from Leftovers:

    1. Mash the potato well, if chunks are very large.
    2. Adjust seasoning by adding more salt and chillies.
    3. Make round ping pong sized balls and keep aside.
    4. Mix all the ingredients of batter well, adding enough water.
    5. Batter should be thick enough to coat back of spoon.
    6. Heat oil for deep frying, in a frying pan.
    7. Dip one ball into batter at a time, and let into hot oil.
    8. Repeat few at a time. Deep fry till light golden and crisp.
    9. Drain and serve hot with chutney or sauce.
