  • For Tortillas:
  • 3 cups Wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1/3 cup warm Milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • For Bean burrito:
  • 1 cup Rajma
  • 2 Onions
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1 tbsp Omam
  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 5 tortillas
  • How to Make Bean Burrito:

    1. Mix all dry ingredients and sift. Mix in butter (at room temperature).
    2. Add milk gradually. Knead till smooth.
    3. Cut dough into 2-inch balls and roll them out flat (very thin) with a rolling pin.
    4. Cook on tawa until lightly spotted.
    5. Rinse rajma (red kidney bean) and soak in clean water for 4-6 hours, or overnight.
    6. Pressure cook till it becomes soft so that it can be mashed easily.
    7. Chop onion and saute it in a little oil.
    8. Chop the green chillies.
    9. Peel and crush the garlic.
    10. Drain the cooked rajma and keep the liquid.
    11. In the mixie, puree the rajma bean, onion, garlic, green chillies, omam, chilli powder and the cut green coriander.
    12. If needed, you can add the drained liquid from the rajma that you have reserved.
    13. This final product should be fairly thick and not watery.
    14. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade. Place a flour tortilla on a greased oven-proof dish.
    15. Place a scoop of the rajma puree. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and roll the tortilla. Bake for 5-7 minutes.
    16. Remove from oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
