Ingredients

  • Rajma (kidney beans) - 1 cup
  • Ghee or oil - 3 tbsp
  • chopped Garlic - 1 tbsp
  • Onions 2, minced
  • Capsicums 2, cut into thin strips
  • chilli powder - 1 tsp or to taste
  • Tomatoes 2, chopped
  • Garam Masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Tomato sauce - 2 tbsp
  • salt - to taste
  • For cobbler:
  • Wheat flour - one and a half cups
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1/3 tsp
  • cumin - 1 tsp, crushed
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee - 4 tbsp
  • curds to mix
  • How to Make Beans Cobbler:

    1. Soak Rajma overnight and cook till soft.
    2. Heat oil, fry garlic and onions till light brown.
    3. Add capsicums, fry till soft. Add chilli powder. Fry well.
    4. Add tomatoes. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
    5. Add tomato sauce, Rajma salt and about 1/2 cup water.
    6. Mash the Rajma slightly and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Pour in a deep casserole.
    7. Top with triangles of cobbler and bake till cobblers are cooked and browned. (200 degrees centigrade, about 20 minutes.)
    8. Serve hot.
    9. For Cobbler : Make a soft dough with the ingredients, pat into a one and a half cm thick round and cut into 8 parts
