  • Beans - 1/4 kg (chopped)
  • Freshly grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chillies - 2-3
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - A few
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 1 tsp

How to Make Beans Thoran

  • Boil the beans with turmeric powder and salt.
  • In the mean time, grind to paste (coarsely) coconut and green chillies.
  • Once the vegetables are boiled, heat oil in pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and allow it to splutter.
  • Then add the beans and mix well.
  • Fry it for a minute or so then add the paste and mix well.
  • Cook it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve hot with hot rice and sambar.
