  • 1/2 kg - Beef cut into medium pieces
  • 2 tsps - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • Butter
  • How to Make Beef Country Captain:

    1. Boil the beef in sufficient water with a little salt and a pinch of turmeric till tender.
    2. Remove from heat and cool.
    3. Mix the chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and garlic paste with the boiled beef pieces and keep aside the soup.
    4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till golden brown.
    5. Remove from the pan and keep aside.
    6. Now fry the marinated boiled beef in the same pan adding a tbsp of butter and cook till the meat begins to dry.
    7. Mix in the fried onions and simmer on low heat for 5 more mins.
    8. Serve with rice or bread and a few steamed vegetables.
