Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Beef, cut in cubes.
  • Salt
  • 5 - Medium green chillies, slit
  • 1 inch piece - Ginger, chopped
  • 3 tbsp - Cooking oil
  • 2 - Medium onions, chopped
  • Coconut, desiccated
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Coriander/ Dhania powder
  • 1 - Large tomato, chopped
  • 2 twigs/ sprigs - Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp - Pepper powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • How to Make Beef Cubes Fried:

    1. Pressure cook beef with salt, little turmeric powder, chopped ginger and chopped green chilli, until only a cup of water remains in the beef.
    2. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan, fry the desiccated coconut flakes and chopped onions, until it turns light brown.
    3. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute on a low flame.
    4. Add curry leaves followed by chopped tomato and saute well until oil seperates.
    5. Add garam masala, pepper powder and the cooked beef with water.
    6. Stir occasionally, until the gravy dries up.
    7. Keep on low flame until the beef browns.
