  • 1 - Beef tongue
  • 4 tbsp - Ghee
  • A few Mint leaves (pudina) (mince)
  • 2 - Green chillies (mince)
  • 1 inch - Ginger (mince)
  • 2 - large Onions (mince)
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp - pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp - Vinegar or Lime juice
  • How to Make Beef Tongue Roast:

    1. Boil the tongue for 5 minutes and scrape the skin.
    2. Cut and wash the pieces of beef tongue.
    3. Place in oven and bake with 4 tbsp of ghee.
    4. Place the minced masala and other condiments in the baking tray to get cooked in the fat.
    5. Alternative method is to fry it.
    6. In a large enough vessel, put ghee and heat it up, and then add tongue, cut into smaller pieces, and brown it.
    7. Constantly baste it with the hot ghee with a spoon.
    8. When one side is brown, turn the pieces to the other side and fry it. Do not allow the meat to be burnt.
    9. You may have to add more ghee.
    10. When the meat is brown, pour 2 cups of boiling water and cook.
    11. Put salt and spices like cinnamon and cloves and cook till the meat is well done.
    12. Serve the meat with a salad, or a sauce of your liking.
