  • 1/2 kg - beetroot
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp - black gram dal
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 2 - red chillies
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Beetroot Curry

  • Wash and peel the beetroots using peeler and slice them.
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai, add asafoetida and splutter mustard seeds, black gram dal, curry leaves and red chillies broken into 2 pieces.
  • Add beetroots with a little salt.
  • Mix them well. Fry for some time.
  • Serve with any rice item.
