3/4 cup - beetroot, grated coarsely
1.5 cup - sweet corn, rinsed
1/4 cup - semolina
1/2 tsp - cumin
1/2 tsp - fennel seed
2 springs - curry leaves chopped
Handful - coriander leaves, chopped
2 - green chillies chopped
1/4 tsp - pepper powder
1/8 tsp - turmeric
Salt to taste
1.5 tbsp - oil
Oil for greasing and brushing.
How to Make Beetroot tikkis
Mix all the ingredients except curry leaves, coriander leaves and oil
Take 3/4 part of the above mix, grind it without adding water
Mix the ground part with the 1/4 part.
Add curry leaves, coriander leaves and oil and mix well.
Grease palms, take small portions of this mix and make patties.
Grease the tawa with little oil and fry the tikkis on both the sides on a medium flame till they turn crispy.
If baking, preheat the oven to 200 degree C, grease a baking tray, place these tikkis in the tray and brush them with oil.
Bake them for 20 to 30 mins depending on the thickness of the patties, keep checking after 20 mins, flip them to the other side. Bake them for 5 more mins
Serve hot with ketchup
