Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup - beetroot, grated coarsely
  • 1.5 cup - sweet corn, rinsed
  • 1/4 cup - semolina
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin
  • 1/2 tsp - Fennel seed
  • 2 springs - Curry leaves chopped
  • Handful - coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 - Green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 tsp - pepper powder
  • 1/8 tsp - Turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 tbsp - oil
  • Oil for greasing and brushing.

How to Make Beetroot tikkis

  • Mix all the ingredients except curry leaves, coriander leaves and oil
  • Take 3/4 part of the above mix, grind it without adding water
  • Mix the ground part with the 1/4 part.
  • Add curry leaves, coriander leaves and oil and mix well.
  • Grease palms, take small portions of this mix and make patties.
  • Grease the tawa with little oil and fry the tikkis on both the sides on a medium flame till they turn crispy.
  • If baking, preheat the oven to 200 degree C, grease a baking tray, place these tikkis in the tray and brush them with oil.
  • Bake them for 20 to 30 mins depending on the thickness of the patties, keep checking after 20 mins, flip them to the other side. Bake them for 5 more mins
  • Serve hot with ketchup
