Ingredients

  • Fish pieces - 500 g
  • Mustard oil - 1 tbsp
  • Onion - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Tomato - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Green chilli - 2, chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Lime juice - 2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Bengali Tangy Fish Curry:

    1. Heat the oil in a deep pan. Add onion and fry till light brown.
    2. Add tomato and green chilli. Cook on low heat till tomatoes turn pulpy.
    3. Add fish, turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups of water.
    4. Simmer till fish is cooked.
    5. Remove from heat, stir in lime juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
    6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
