Besan aur pyaz ki sabzi is a wonderful aromatic dish made with besan or gram flour and onions.

The vegetarian recipe is famous Indian dish for its unique flavorsome taste and can be quickly made once all ingredients are ready. The dish can be made by sauteing all ingredients in a pan under medium heat. This dish is usually served as a side dish or a snack. It tastes best with rice or butter naan.

  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 2 - onions, cut into thin slices
  • 175g - besan, sieve well
  • 1 tsp - Red Chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 3/4 tsp - salt
  • 2 tbsp - water
  • 2 tsp - chopped Coriander leaves
  • How to Make Besan Aur Pyaz Ki Subzi (Onion fry with Besan):

    1. In a wide pan, heat oil. Add sliced onions and fry on medium to low heat until it is light golden in colour.
    2. Pour besan evenly with one hand and simultaneously stir it with a spatula with the other hand.
    3. Mix it evenly - or else it may form lumps.
    4. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to it. Mix all the ingredients well. Sprinkle 2 tbsp of water. Cover it with a lid and cook on low heat for 5 minutes until the besan is well coated and the colour changes.
    5. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot as a side dish with rotis.
