Ingredients

  • 1 cup - rava
  • 2 cups - besan
  • 4 cups - Sugar
  • 1 cup - dry fruits like almonds, Cashewnuts (crushed)
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 2 tbsp - gond (gum)
  • 2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • A few slivers of Almond for garnishing

How to Make

  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and add rava, stir it till it is roasted.
  • Add besan and roast it. Stir the mixture continuously on low flame.
  • In a separate utensil, heat 2 tbsp of ghee.
  • Fry gond in the ghee and crush it; add it to the dry fruit mix.
  • Add this mix to rava besan mixture.
  • In a saucepan take 3 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar.
  • Boil till you get 1 tar chashni (1-string thread).
  • Add the above mix in the sugar solution and stir continuously. Keep stirring continuously so that no lumps are formed.
  • Remove to a plate and garnish with cardamom powder and almond slivers.
  • Allow to cool and cut into diamond shapes.
