Ingredients

  • 1 litre - Milk
  • 30 g - good quality Rice
  • 1 tsp - cardamoms, powdered
  • 100 g - Sugar
  • 25 g - Raisins
  • 25 g - almonds, chopped
  • 25 g - Pistachios nuts, chopped
  • A pinch - Camphor
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • How to Make Bhat Payesh:

    1. Wash the rice, drain and fry in ghee, to a light golden colour.
    2. Bring the milk to a boil and put in the rice.
    3. When the rice is cooked, add sugar, nuts, raisins and keep on stirring till the payesh turns thick.
    4. Remove from fire and sprinkle cardamom powder, camphor on top.
