Ingredients

  • 1 litre - milk
  • 30 g - good quality rice
  • 1 tsp - cardamoms, powdered
  • 100 g - sugar
  • 25 g - raisins
  • 25 g - almonds, chopped
  • 25 g - pistachios nuts, chopped
  • A pinch - camphor
  • 2 tbsp - ghee

How to Make Bhat Payesh

  • Wash the rice, drain and fry in ghee, to a light golden colour.
  • Bring the milk to a boil and put in the rice.
  • When the rice is cooked, add sugar, nuts, raisins and keep on stirring till the payesh turns thick.
  • Remove from fire and sprinkle cardamom powder, camphor on top.
