Ingredients

  • 1/4 kg - okra/lady's fingers
  • 1 - onion
  • 1 - tomato
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 1 tsp - cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp - besan flour
  • 1 tbsp - red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - coriander powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • Turmeric powder, a pinch
  • Asafoetida, a pinch
  • Ginger, a small quantity
  • Garlic, a small quantity
  • Curry leaves, a small quantity
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

How to Make Bhindi Masala -Dry

  • Wash and cut lady's fingers into 1 inch pieces.
  • Chop onion and tomato.
  • Make ginger-garlic paste and cumin seeds powder and keep other ingredients ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai, splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, ginger-garlic paste, besan flour and onion and fry them well.
  • Now add tomato and mix well.
  • Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds powder, salt and asafoetida.
  • Finally add lady's fingers and mix well.
  • Fry for 10 minutes.
  • Serve with rice.
