Ingredients

  • 400 g - okra, tips and ends, snipped off
  • 4 - green chillies, chopped finely
  • 2 tbsp - coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 cup - gram flour
  • 1 tbsp - Rice flour
  • 1 - slice day-old bread
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp - carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 tbsp - hot oil
  • salt to taste
  • oil to deep fry

How to Make Bhindi Pakodas

  • Slice okra into very thin rounds. Add green chillies, coriander, seeds and sprinkle a little salt.
  • Crumble and add bread, flours, hot oil.
  • Add a little water and mix loosely to form a very thick batter.
  • Heat oil and put a small dumpling of batter.
  • Deep fry on medium heat till light golden and crisp.
  • Serve hot with chutneys, sauce or ketchup.
